If you are looking for a new role in a growing interesting transportation and logistics environment, Ewals Cargo Care might be looking for you.

What will you do?

  • Imagine that an order comes in and the cargo has to be transported from Spain to Great Britain. Our advanced planning module calculates and suggests the 15 best routes based on speed and cost.
  • As a Planner, you will specialize in your field, such as a specific region, country, means of transport (truck, ferry, train) or other expertise.

You will learn:

  • Determine which proposed route is preferred and best to implement.
  • Monitor processes and take responsibility in the event of deviations.
  • Calculate and puzzle with driving hours, working hours and distances, taking into account the driving hours law.
  • Giving instructions to drivers or carriers with the necessary (changed) data.
  • Searching and planning return transports for our trailers.
  • Inform stakeholders efficiently and collaboratively.

In short, 40% of your time is spent on planning and puzzling, 50% on communication via email, phone, Microsoft Teams and our scheduling system, and 10% on meetings and collaboration for continuous improvement.

As a Planner, we expect you to remain calm, reason logically, learn to make well-considered choices and learn to negotiate.

What are we looking for?

  • Transport & Logistics degree is an added value;
  • Don't have any planning experience yet? No problem, we will train you in this; Having experience has an added value.
  • However, you do feel comfortable in an office environment and you can work well with computers and systems (such as planning tools, ERP and/or Office);
  • You are a strong communicator, you speak Spanish and can handle English well;
  • You like dynamics, switching and puzzling;
  • You like to work in a close-knit team and have a proactive attitude;
  • You get energy from looking for the right match between cargo and care.

The department and onboarding

The team of about 12 people is involved in the daily planning of our own Ewals Cargo Care Full Truck loads. Your onboarding is partly done through a buddy program. You will be assigned to one partner who will take you by the hand to the different departments and teach you about our product groups. You will gain insight into how our departments work in the multimodal network! Another part of your onboarding is supported by our Ewals Academy, which gives you a strong program of Ewals as a company in general.

What do we offer? We care!

We are offering a challenging full time 40-hour position and the opportunity to grow with us. You will have a role with varied responsibilities, working in an informal and collegial atmosphere.

You will receive a market-conform salary. We find it important that you can get the best out of yourself, but also that we get the best out of each other. Together with the Ewals Academy, we can offer you the opportunity to follow training courses and you can grow in different layers of the organization. Your professional development is in your own hands at Ewals Cargo Care.

You can park your car in our parking lot right next to our office. Ewals Cargo Care finds your health very important and therefore provides fresh fruit in the department and gives you the opportunity to sign up for a preventive medical examination.

About the organisation

We believe in a better and meaningful supply chain for everyone and achieve this by building smart and sustainable communities together with our partners and suppliers. We provide reliable solutions to transport our customer's cargo. We care, connect, move.

At Ewals Cargo Care, with 2550 employees across 13 countries we’re more than a logistics company—we’re a family that looks out for one another. With over a century of experience, we’ve grown into a major international player, but our roots as a family business still shape everything we do. What truly defines us isn’t just the name on the building, but the way we support, see, and stand by each other every day. We believe in people, and we invest in their growth with genuine attention and care. Even when the pace is fast, we never lose sight of where we can lend a hand or offer encouragement.

We work with trust, assuming good intentions and balancing ambition with realism. Our culture is informal, open, and full of energy—where communication is easy and everyone is approachable, no matter their role. We’re proud to be seen as different from other logistics companies, and that pride drives us to keep moving forward. Through programs like our Young Professional Program and the Ewals Academy, we help our people grow and shape their futures.

We care, we connect, we move—together. That’s the spirit that has carried us through generations, and it’s what continues to guide us as we embrace the future with optimism and resilience.
