At Ewals Cargo Care, you will work on transport solutions for urgent and standard shipments from our Spanish customers that have high demands. This is your chance to develop (further) in a challenging, responsible position with a lot of variety and impact.

As a Freight Forwarder within our Freight Forwarding Barcelona department, you are responsible for planning, optimizing and coordinating transports and time-critical shipments. You make commercial considerations, interact with carriers and ensure that every shipment runs smoothly – and preferably exceeds the customer's expectations. You do all this in a dynamic playing field with a lot of freedom and responsibility.

• You plan in our systems, monitor the progress of orders placed and actively make adjustments where necessary.
• You are constantly optimizing capacity, making smart combinations of loads and looking for available carriers in the market.
• You have the most up-to-date market knowledge. You closely follow trends and price developments and are the point of contact for, for example, the Sales department when they need advice on rates or the market situation.
• You act as a spider in the web between customers, carriers and internal departments, where you switch, solve and improve.

You can achieve this by:

Buying and selling cargoes and setting competitive rates based on market developments;

• Sending out transport orders, monitoring progress and making adjustments where necessary;
• Combining shipments and optimizing the right capacity;
• Actively building and maintaining a reliable carrier network;
• Supporting the sales department with advice on purchase rates and market developments.

You start with extensive onboarding via the Ewals Academy and a personal buddy program. This way you get to know the systems, processes and colleagues well. You will become part of a well-organized and committed team in which you quickly find your place and can take steps.

You will join a close-knit team of Freight Forwarders and work closely with colleagues in Customer Service, Trucking, Sales and other internal departments, a total of about 50 colleagues. The lines of communication are short and there is an informal, open and honest no-nonsense culture.
