Kick off of the new Young Professional Program

Young Professional program to kickstart your career
Early in your career, there is a lot to learn. To guide that process, Ewals Academy started the Young Professional Program (YPP) as an initiative that helps early-career professionals gain experience and learn from their colleagues. Over the course of two cycles of 8 months via online and offline, the participants tackle current challanges within the company.

Mikkel Knudsen, one of the program members responsible for Customer Service Coordination, says: ‘'The YPP challenges and give us opportunities to improve personally and professionally. We can do it by coming together from diverse backgrounds and solving current challenges within the company. By thos occasion, we foster a strong connection between the offices present all over Europe.’’

The YPP is taking an innovative approach
This year's program focuses on international diversity. Instead of limiting to one location, as in the previous editions, all regions could submit participants, strengthening the project with diverse nationalities, education, and expertise.

‘’YPP is an interesting project where other colleagues can inspire everyone. There is a mix of job positions and cultures, which can broaden our view on diverse topics – from strategies to different mentalities and work approaches. At the same time, getting to know people and uniting as one Ewals Cargo Care team is great. Lastly, I love it when motivated young people meet. It has huge value, positive and creative vibe, and breathtaking motivation after meeting like that.’’ – Erik Pavlacic, Dispatcher, from ECC in Bratislava.

2022/2023 projects
This year's projects focus on track and trace and employee satisfaction. The first project aims to understand what progress can still be made in tracking shipments to enable customers to see where their cargo is with higher precision.

The second and third project focus on employee recruitment and retention. As a family-owned company, employee satisfaction is important. Also, as labor shortages continue to be a global challenge, employee retention is crucial. Ewals Cargo Care is already committed to conducting periodic office employees and driver surveys, but the company stays curious about what more can be done.

"Our people are our more valuable asset. The end goal is to deliver towards the employee population different methods to interconnect different generations, deploying all the potential that we have because of the maturity and life experience of the oldest colleagues, the balance of the medium age colleagues and the enthusiasm, energy and knowledge of the new technologies of our younger colleagues.'' - Pedro Lopez, Executive Director of Region South.
